Scorpio New Moon – Release and Let Flow

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

The world is currently flooded with anxiety and uncertainty. The rise and fall of presidential election polls and the stock market have become barometers signaling which day we are feeling hopeful and which day we sink back into despair.

Folks, we are now imbedded in a time when, despite who becomes president, we are going to face huge changes. The old familiar sources of security and comfort (Saturn) are being challenged by the need for evolutionary change (Uranus). We may hope that things will calm down and return to “the way things were,” but I am sorry to say that is not going to happen.

Trying to cling like a capsized boater to the rock that caused your situation in the first place is futile and won’t work. Then, what can we do to save ourselves?

I am not a politician, an economist or a futurist. They will give you different answers to mine. My perspective is quite different.

As an astrologer, I have known for some time that this period (2008-2015) of turbulence and transformation was coming. Since I strive to live my outer life from an inner spiritual perspective, my approach to managing during this profound time of change was developed by going within.

Let me remind you that in every moment, when you are feeling concern, the best answer to finding peace, joy and love can be found inside you. You can consult or get inspired by others, but your own inner voice (Higher Self or Soul) is the source of all answers and available in every moment.

That said I will share with you what I am hearing from my inner voice and working with in my own life.

Release, release, release. Did I say release?

Release every concept of the way life ought to be (including the way you think you ought to be and the way anyone else ought to be). Stop fighting with reality!

Sure, you can hold an intention of what you’d like to have happen, but then you must let it go in order to open to the flow of life that is always bringing you the highest good in every moment even if it is disguised as suffering. Suffering? Oh, not that.

Fortunately, suffering can be a “wake-up call” and an opportunity to make the changes that will bring us closer to self-love, self-acceptance and inner harmony, which translates into harmonious human relations and happiness in the outer world. Most suffering is simply battling with reality anyway.

Just as the farmer has to plow the field, turn the soil over, to create a more fertile ground for new crops, we are now moving toward a time of fertile change. We need to take heart and remember that the breakdowns we will be living through are leading to breakthroughs to a new phase of human existence on earth the likes of which we can only imagine.

Let life flow without grasping to keep things the same. When life doesn’t change it is called death.

To move through this profound time of change, it is imperative that you release and let flow in every moment of your day.

A Quote of Note

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
~Martin Luther King Jr.

Living from the Inside Out

Friday, October 17th, 2008

My recent trip to India made me aware of the importance of getting my priorities straight. It is not the world that gives us life us but the inner spark of the Divine that lives through us. Why then do I go to the computer to answer my email the first thing in the morning? My mind gets caught in the outer stuff before I remember my Source.

The visible rituals in a Hindu’s life can be quite mundane and yet they are done with a reverence and remembrance that makes simple things sacred. Standing at the banks of the Ganges River at dawn I observed a simple bathing ritual that probably originated at the beginning of time. But this was not just a cleaning of the body, but a purification ritual done with sacred devotion to the Divine Source of life.

Living from the inside out makes me conscious of my own inner peace no matter what is happening around me. It results in greater awareness and guidance for taking wise actions in every moment.

How do I know this? I was able to maintain my inner awareness through much of our India journey and for a couple weeks afterward.

Yesterday, after two or three days of feeling like I had not gotten much done, I realized I was back in the old rut of piling too much on my “to-do” list and then plowing forward haphazardly seeking to cross of the most items. Priorities were not necessary considered and I got sidetracked by lots of little distractions. In fact, I was once again putting email ahead of my meditation and journaling time.

When I start my day with meditation and journaling, begin with a reminder that all the energy and answers I need for my life lie within. Conversely, when I start with email, I get drawn into fighting fires or simplely reacting to outer stimulus, like a floating leaf dashed about in a raging stream.

Our current times are chaotic – just follow the stock market or the presidential race for example. With Saturn and Uranus facing down each other for the first of five stand-ofs on Election Day, we will all do well to remember that our good does not come from any outer source. Our good comes from our relationship to our Divine Source or Higher Self within.

Perhaps you would consider joining me in placing the highest priority on our inner world so we can face what the outer world presents with greater confidence and peace.
